If you want to install the VNCI 2.0 Update you need to run VNCI manager as an administrator/with elevated privileges. Then the installer for the update will start the correct way. But it's not necessary for successful SIPS updates .

Well, it turns out reading the fine print would have helped! I’ve finally figured out why I was struggling with SIPS and the R42 version on my MY22 Standard model...
The filename of the attached instructions, as well as the manual itself, explicitly mention MY23. Since that's a different model, it’s no wonder the FICM update failed on my MY22. There was basically a mismatch.
I just wanted to let everyone know so that other MY22 Standard owners don’t stumble over the same issue! See attached pics.

This week my VNCI VDI3 arrived and today I used SIPS for the first time. I wanted to update the MCU for R67 and it worked(dealer updated only the MPU). Then updated TBOX MPU via USB + MCU via SIPS and also worked(now I can use Keyless Start function in the app). I also updated HVAC and EVCC. Did not had much time and laptop battery so that was it for today.
Is is safe to update all the other remaining modules ?

@EV Focus RO It's safe when you know exactly what you're doing . For example you have to look at this sheet about battery management system, there is a specific sequence . Feel free to ask if you need further assistance.

Also, how long it takes to update all modules listed in pdf ? Thank you!

That sounds good, thumbs up . This update instruction is actually the only one I can think of where a fixed order is required to successfully complete the update on the first attempt. With the Lane Keep Assistant — or more precisely, the front radar — it may take a bit longer. Most important: please make sure your 12-volt starter battery is kept at a sufficient voltage using a charger. Do it in small steps; that way, the chances of succeeding on the first try are much higher. Good luck with the update!

Does anyone know how long the old SIPS will continue to function? MG has switched to a new system where you are given a code that you must send to MG and then receive an authorisation code in return. Only then can you update.

I don't have a 12V battery starter, that's why I was asking how long the update for the batch in the PDF would take. Have you done those updates?

You need a 12V battery charger not really a starter pack. I did my early SE and pushed every update to it started at 9am and finished just before 5 with an hour or two for a cheeky Burger King. The big delay was repeated failures of one module - 9 attempts to get it going!!!

@EV Focus RO Yes, I have completed all updates, everything shows green checkmarks . I strongly advise against performing SIPS updates without a 12-volt battery charger connected . You risk turning your nice car into a brick — in IT terms, this is called “bricking.”
During the SIPS update process, you can actually see the current voltage of the 12-volt battery within SIPS itself. Even with a charger connected, the voltage drops noticeably but is stabilized. Without a charger… honestly, that’s very risky and not something I would do.
Please get a charger — they are not expensive. Here in Germany, Aldi and Lidl (if those discounter names mean anything to you) regularly sell them, usually for around €15–20. You can also buy them elsewhere, for example at hardware stores.

I have updated with SIPS many times, however i think ive read that if you say buy 1 hour access, as long as you dont log out you can update the car, as it it wont kick you out after 1 hour.

Anyone confirm?

Errrrm FVCM? The camera module - had to repeatedly try to reprogram as a replacement module. There has been an update to the vnci firmware since I did it which allegedly improves things but I’ve not tried since. If a module fails on the update in one you have to reprogram as a replacement.

Hi everyone,
I have a question regarding the radar replacement on my MG HS.
I’ve recently replaced the front radar with a brand new unit. My question is:
do I need to program or configure it using SIPS, or is a standard calibration procedure sufficient?
The front radar is new (not used), and everything is physically installed correctly. I just want to make sure there are no additional software or coding steps required.

Will get a 12-volt battery charger for the next updates. Fortunately updating the FICM and TBOX did not take too long(30 min max) and I got away without. At the 3 year service done last month they took 4 hours for updating the FICM to R67 and they still didn't manage to update the MCU via SIPS

Did u notice improvement in the infotainment startup time or the iSmart refresh time?

Not really. I'm glad that R67 fixed the BT issues
