Given how many people are showing up here with it, I'm beginning to wonder if every phase 1 LR car is going to get it.
It certainly does seem a bit likely that they will all fail - let's just hope that the replacements are much more reliable.Given how many people are showing up here with it, I'm beginning to wonder if every phase 1 LR car is going to get it.
This thread is making me nervous now, but so far so good for us. Goth Leo has his first birthday next Friday. We certainly have a number of members here with susceptible cars who have not reported any problems. @QLeo for one. But the time to onset of symptoms seems variable.
Good point, which herself noted when I told her about this issue, to make her aware if she gets caught. We try to charge on the AC when we go to the village, as it's half the extortion the Highland Council charges. But when away from home, yes, it's almost always DC.Mind you, how much AC charging do you do? I would have thought you would be less inconvenienced by this than many owners. (Now if you got the DC charging issue, that would be a different matter, but that seems much less common.)
CheersOh dear. You could try cutting to the chase and going straight to your dealer with the diagnosis. At least if it is this issue, you know it has a fix.
Welcome to the forum, by the way. Just sorry we're not meeting under happier circumstances.
Also try and establish how long it charges for before it fails. Some dealers have just plugged it in saw it works and said there's no problem! If you know it takes about x minutes you can ask them how long it was plugged in for.Cheers
Luckily I was booked in for a service Monday so I've told them I want this investigating instead.
Trying a friend's Tesla cable tonight and then will try the local Aldi charger tomorrow and see if the same thing happens.
I feel sorry for people that aren't as tech savvy as this can cause a major headache.
Get it into your dealer. Sounds like the same issue the rest of us are experiencing. So, as thought, it’s not an issue with the cable as the Tesla one didn’t work either.
Currently sitting at an expensive DC charger and it’s working fine.
Will try the 3 pin plug later but not holding my breath.
I did all that. I've also had no problems with the dealer agreeing what's up.Make sure you've documented everything you've tried, and submit that to the dealer ... that should help short-circuit all the initial guff they'll suggest (hopefully).
