Couldn’t get in to car this morning

I experienced a problem with unlocking my MG4 SR this morning. I pressed the key fob and got a weak noise like the central unlocking was trying to work but couldn’t work properly. None of the doors would open. I tried the button on the door handle and using the keyless unlock on the phone app...

MG4 infotainment screen only shows MG

My MG4 Excite 51 (the cheapest version in Australia) intermittently blanks the infotainment screen and only shows the MG startup logo. Even when the car was locked this screen stayed on for a while. When restarted there were no problems. Any ideas?

    Headlight Beam Question

I picked up my brand new X Power on Saturday. I noticed this evening that my headlight beam on the right hand side looked brighter reflecting on the rear of the cars in front than the left hand beam. I took the attached photo from about 70ft / 20m to demonstrate what I'm trying to describe...

    Rust bubble?

I’ve had my Xpower just over a week and absolutely love it, okay there are a couple of little irritations like lane keeping assist and why my reversing camera sometimes has coloured boxes but more often not. Main issue though is what looks like rust bubbles on a 6 month old car! Didn’t notice...

    Nurburgring Hot Lap

I always find it interesting watching the various car reviews, saying the Xpower isn't really a hot hatch etc due to its handling. This is a hot lap at the Nurburgring, on an open circuit time was 7:50 Lap records below were on a closed circuit for the bench mark hothatches. I wonder how close...

Anyone 'pepped their brake lights up' yet, as Vyvyan would say?

Anyone pepped their brake lights up yet. And more importantly I suppose, is it legal ? ( AliExpress special). Certainly make your point when braking. Probably extremely irritating if fired during regen braking and sitting at lights with foot on brake.

    Carlinkit issue

Carlinkit minor issue. Help please! Managed to finally get a Carlinkit 5.0 to work after updating my iPhone to iOS 17. However, CarPlay initially shows a blank screen on the in-car display. Swiping the car’s screen edge, or activating Siri using the steering wheel button, brings up the...

    Sunroof

The Xpower is not available with the sunroof in Australia. A sad omission I believe, seeing as it would place it in the more upmarket segment. Is it available in any other country?

How to capture all trips and usage statistics

Is there a way to capture past trips and statistics for each of them? I would love it if the ismart app had this, but would be ok with other solutions as well, preferably without obd dongles but maybe using the car api?

    6 Month Battery SOH

Had a little play with an ancient OBD dongle I've had knocking about the shed and found 'Car Scanner' now had an MG4 Profile. Doesn't cover very much but it did give me a State Of Health (SOH) reading for the battery. The car was built 1 year ago and I know six months isn't a long time (my...

    Homemade frunk

I decided to make my own frunk. I bent some galvanised steel conduit and flattened the ends to pick up on the same holes the aftermarket frunks do. I then riveted a length of t shaped extruded aluminium between the 2. Cut an oil resistant plastic container to allow for the slope of the bonnet...
