Diagnostic VDI, VNCI, MDI with MG4

Can the infotainment also be upgraded with the sips tool, or is that only for the cars modules? or does that always require the USB method through the android infortainment menus?

Infotainment needs both : USB for MPU (RXX) and SIPS for MCU (6X.X.X.X)

But for SE (or Standard in EU), we can do both by USB so far.

Have there been any recent software updates for any modules? I installed the latest MCU update for my trophy infotainment system via SIPS in July (I'd already had R63 installed for a while; I think the MCU update was a "preparation" for R67), and all other modules were up to date at that time. The last update was the MPU upgrade from R63 to R67.

are there any drivers needed, when i try to run SIPS/VDS with a VNCI VDi3?

On device manager its connect when i run with USB/Wifi .. but on SIPS and VDS my VCNI isnt available, also it doesnt show up on SAIC VCI Manager.

I have another laptop with a TopDon Rlink and ROEWE/MG driver, there is not a single problem with the connection on SIPS and VDS.

yeah already found out that the VNCI one works different compared to my topdon device.

There was an issue with msmq and my Ethernet settings on the second laptop.

Got it running after some hours :D

Hello,

Hello and thanks to this forum and especially the very detailed tutorial, I took the plunge and bought a VNCI reader on AliExpress.

I bought it to test it for an hour and was able to connect to my car without any problems and list the modules with their versions.

I now want to start updating the modules, knowing that I have a 4A charger to maintain the battery level.

I have a few questions before I do.

Here is the status of my modules in SIPS.

Let's say I want to update the CCU.

1. Is there a specific order to follow, or can I do it without updating other modules first?

2. What steps should I take: reprogramming? configuration? reprogramming and then, once finished, configuration?

The red and green crosses in the "configuration file" and "calibration file" boxes aren't very clear to me. Does this change the option to choose?

3. I plan to do this with my laptop from my car seat. Are there any precautions I should take? Or does everything happen automatically, and I don't need to touch the car's menus to turn it on or off? Just be in Park (P)?

4. For the R67 update, should I first do the update via USB key and then the FICM module via SIPS, or the other way around?

Thanks for your answers.
As soon as I'm ready, I'll get a one-day license.

Hello
  1. No order, but some ECU perform updates with some other (like CCU which update GW, BMS, EVCC, SCU and EPMCU for exemple)
  2. Reprogramming = Configuration File and Configuration = Calibration file. According your ECUs, you need to update one, other or both. But if it's already up to date, you can skip the update
  3. Yep : HV battery with enough energy (no saving mode), don't start the car (no ready, just sit on drive seat or sit on passenger seat and press driver seat to power on the car. An alternative to be sure to not be in "READY" mode : start the car from driver seat, leave the car and sit on passenger seat. Anytime you open the driver door, "READY" is disable
  4. You can do both. Once you got MCU 68.4.7.0, it'll work with R67 update but you can upgrade FICM MCU from SIPS to have 68.4.9.0 version

Do the green crosses in the "configuration file" and "calibration file" boxes mean they're already up to date?
The "configuration file" and "calibration file" files downloaded automatically ?
