    Volvo EX30 thoughts

Good evening all, So I’ve just preordered a Volvo EX30, I’ve confirmed with them and you get your £500 deposit refunded at any time prior to handover ( useful as there isn’t going to be one in the country for months to look at / test drive ) Even if the volvo is what I want, I need to have a...

First long trip in my MG4 SE LR

Hi guys, Picked up my MG4 last October, anyway I have to drive today from Manchester to Aberystwyth, over 3 hours and 140 miles trip. Charged my car 100%, and it was showing 281 miles range, surprisingly very similar to official figures of 284miles? Obviously I took it with a pinch of salt, so I...

    Speed bumps

So, has anyone else adapted their driving habits when going over speed bumps? I’m concerned about damaging the battery pack and also that under floor ‘spoiler’ so I’ve adjusted the way I approach bumps now so instead of hitting them so both wheels straddle as much as possible I’m now making...

New MG Dealership in South London/Surrey border

Thought I’d post this in case it was of benefit to anyone, as it’s a massive help to me for where I live. Dees on the Purley Way next to Croydon Airport are now an MG dealer so will speak to my current dealer and see if they can speak to Dees, which so much closer to where I live, for me around...

    Basic charging.

Just a couple of questions. I had the Gen1 2020 ZS, now have the MG4. Can I just unlock the 4, plug my Pod Point in and lock the car to initiate charging like I did with the ZS ? If I unlock the 4 whilst charging does it stop the charge, as the ZS did ? Can I just use the Pod Point's schedule to...

    A Tad Concerned......

Doing my research for my next car ( Kia Niro EV or MG4), I have veered from one to other almost daily! Coming down quite firmly towards the MG4 at the moment, but the myriad of complaints on this excellent Forum about oil leaks, software updates, charging issues, even getting locked in are quite...

Technical/service manual to do some maintenance

Someone already seen/own digital or hard copy service/technical/spare parts manuals? Are there canbus devices available to programm/change params, as I have one for my Smart Roadster? It helped me several times to evaluate, fix and remove/reset fault codes. Have some ideas to change the look...

Mats now sold Hi all. Been a while since I posted in the forum, but finally got round to sorting out all my accessories after handing back both my MG4s back in December. I have a set of tailored car mats which were from carmats.co.uk They were in my car for all of a couple of days max before...

    Swapping wheels around

So whilst dodging a large rock jn the road ive managed to kerb my front left tyre and take a chunk out of the wall and scratch the alloy a little. I was going to replace the rear tyres at some point (Goodyear EfficientGrip Performance 2, if anyone has any opinions???). My plan is to take the...

    What does an MG4 remember?

Hello all, loving all your work and have been a voyeur of the forum for some time whilst making my buying decision. Picked up a Grey Trophy last week and so far so good apart from the normal stuff (I detest LKA...) Wondering if there is actually a list of what settings the car does remember...

    Would you recommend?

So I'm currently driving a Honda Civic and I've just started a new job as a community nurse and it's just too costly to run now. I can see the MG4 Long Range Trophy is very affordable via lease and I'm tempted to get one. However, I have seen so many negative post on the forum and it's...

Skoda Enyaq 80x as second family car

So I got the Skoda Enyaq 80x as our larger family car and I would say compared to our MG4 in most ways its a better car... but the app is quite poor, so the MG wins on the app and controlling the car remotely.

    Charging issue

For three years I have owned an electric car (Hyundai Ioniq) and have a Pod Point home charger. The Ioniq's scheduler occasionally failed (usually when you most needed it), so I found that the VERY reliable method was to use the scheduler in the Pod Point. So I would return home, plug the...

    Windscreen washer empty warning

Ok so I understand that if no water comes out of the jets it probably means I have run out of water. But! Is there no warning or sensor to say when it is low? Very common car feature I would have expected so was surprised when I was out of water.

To wave, or not to wave?

So while out in my MG4 I have come across other MG4 owners coming the other way. I've had Land Rovers and Volkswagens in the past (still do), and I'm used to giving other drivers a cheery wave. I've found myself doing the same with other MG4 owners. I'm yet to get a response back from any of...

Energy saving for the terminally dim

I was going to post this in someone else's thread, but then realised it would be an unjustifiable hijack. The story of how to get an electric car but make so much saving elsewhere that you find yourself in credit to the tune of £800 without a wall box or variable tariff. I was paying no...
