How to tell it's a LR on the V5C ?

Hi all. Is there a way to tell if the car is an LR version from the V5C logbook? Mine shows model 'MG 5 Exclusive EV', but no mention of if it's the LR version. Thanks

    Improving range

I know there is a lot of chat around range but I've just done a middle-of-the-night drop-off at Luton airport (maybe 120 miles round trip) at 70mph on cruise control (mostly, except speed limited bits) on empty motorways and got 2.9m per kwh, giving a range (in current conditions) of something...

    Forward Collision Warning.

The forward collision warning, although very useful, can be a bit mystifying at times. This morning, driving on an open road, no traffic within sight, no bends for about 600yds, no obstructions anywhere and just a grassed verge, this warning sign appeared to wake up and let itself be known! I...

    90mph Before I Realised It!

I try to limit my speed and never venture beyond 75/80mph. Last night, quite late and driving on the M18 away from Sheffield, the road was not very busy at all and I was lost in my own thoughts. Before I realised, I was doing 90mph! My MG5 had reached this speed seemingly effortly and the engine...

Charger connected warning, whilst driving. Anyone else seen this?

Hi just wondering if anyone else has had this. I managed to close the M42 yesterday while my car got dragged into the hard shoulder. Vehicle came up with a warning that the charger was connected (I was doing 70mph) Slowed down and went into the slow lane, car driving fine, then hit traffic and...

    Marly Cockpit spray alternative

I read a post about using Marly Cockpit spray to clean the very delicate piano black plastic around the heating controls and gear selector, but it is out of stock on Amazon- does anyone know a good alternative or where I can find the Marly product? I appear to have already managed to scratch the...

Process to get 250 Miles shown on full charge - MG5 Long Range

On arriving to take collection of my stunning new MG5 Long Range Exclusive in bright red, the MG sales associate took great delight in showing me around the inside of the car. I was shown the car was fully charged showing the 'advertised' range of 250 miles on the dash. Well for the following...

    Frunk or Froot ?

With so much discussion about putting the type 2 under the bonnet, the term Frunk seems to be the commonly used term. Frunk is of course a combined word (a portmanteau) made up of FRont and TrUNK. So how have we come to commonly use the American term Frunk instead of the British equivalent of...

    ‘Charger Connected’ but it isn’t…

Morning all, I’m new to this forum and new to owning an MG5 EV SR, which we’ve had for the past couple of weeks. Really like the car and it has worked perfectly so far, but when my wife arrived at work today having charged the vehicle last night, she was presented with a ‘Charger Connected’...

Compatible Spare Wheels for the MG5

I really want to get a full size wheel (tyre and rim) for my MG5 but been looking for ages. I’ll still look but at the moment feel that I should just get a cheap space saver one off eBay or Shpock. I know the stud spacing is 5x112 and that the Golf mk5 spare fits the MG. Are there any other...

    Hypervolt charging an MG5LR

Does anyone have a Hypervolt Home Charger for their MG5LR? If so, have you tried a Balancing Charge yet? It's a bit too early for mine as I've only done 700 miles but, on the two occasions that I have done a 100% charge, the Hypervolt has stopped correctly at 100% but then showed no sign of...

    FRUNK??

Can the space under the bonnet really hold the charging cable in it's bag and is it advisable in the long term? When the boot is full of wheelchair, grandchildren's paraphernalia, holiday suitcases etc that space would be ideal - particularly as that's where the charging socket is. Any ideas...

Had the under bonnet cover off today surprised by what I saw

This morning I decided tie a link to the emergency plug release, I saw it on another thread. I was surprised to see a lot of water on the flat steel sections inside each wing. There was a fair amount of debris as well, leaves mainly. The area was painted but it certainly didn’t look like...

    Using Economy Mode.

It is relatively easy to understand the Kers system of Regenerative Braking but what actually happens in the Mode system? I use the Economy Mode most of the time but when the car is running in this mode, what is happening in the ‘innards’ of the car? What is the difference in the internal...
