An all electric version made its debut as EZS at the 2018 Guangzhou Auto Show, featuring a 44.5 kWh battery, and a front positioned motor producing 143 PS (141 hp; 105 kW) or 150 PS (148 hp; 110 kW) and 350 N⋅m (35.7 kg⋅m; 258 lb⋅ft) to the front wheels. It is available in the United Kingdom, parts of Europe, Thailand, China, and India.

It was revealed in Australia in November 2020 as the cheapest electric car in the market of all time. MG Australia predicted a sales target of 3,000 unit for the 2021 model year.

Except for China, the electric SUV is officially named as ZS EV, while the official name in China is EZS.

Can car be left unlocked with key inside?

My work has secure parking so when it was frosty, 5 minutes before I was leaving, I would get the petrol car running to warm up and clear the windows. As there isn't a pre heat function on the ZS, I wondered if I left the key in the car so I can defrost it, would it then lock me out? I'm sure I...

    Delays in getting parts...

I had my car delivered at the beginning of December. 10 days later I found I could not charge it. After plugging in at Tesco, I realised it had not added any miles. At home with the granny charger I realised it wasn't do much (I have a smart socket tat shows power consumption). Found I could...

    Creaking from the back.

Picked up my new ZS yesterday, was very excited buying my first brand new car. Love it, however within minutes of leaving dealership I noticed a creaking sound coming from the back. I thought I’d drive it a wee while, in the hope I was imagining it. I picked up the the Mrs 15 minutes later and...

    Heated seat thermostat

Firstly - I love the heated seats. They heat up fast and are really warm. However I wondered if there was a thermostat or a way to set the temperature a little lower as they can get quite warm if left on. I’ve found I have to cycle them on/off/on/off to regulate the temperature and avoid my tush...

    Local perks for EV owners

Idea shamelessly stolen from the Speakev forum. Here in Leeds we have free parking in council owned car parks and in pay and display areas. Also as part of the Combined West Yorkshire Authority there are free dispense Rapid chargers (Engie) all over the place. What are other councils providing ?

USB access up at rear view mirror

I’ve been toying with the idea of installing a USB port up at the rear view mirror/forward facing camera unit to allow me to plug in my dashcam. I’ve been advised that the facelift ZS ICE has this built into the unit (why they didn’t do it on the ZS EV I’ve no idea) and it would be great to have...

    Full charge range

Hi, Have now done 300 odd miles in my EV. After two overnight charges from my 7Kw home charge point the maximum range indicated is at best 136 miles before the car has turned a wheel. Thought the range should be 155-160ish. Thanks

GOM - Accuracy at last 20%

So far the lowest I've run my car is to 44miles remaining range and then I've charged it up again (only had the car for few days...). Just want to check how much can I trust GOM below the 40miles remaining range, does it go down linear reflecting real use or will it suddenly drop from say 30...

    Cycle Racks LS & 5

For those who just want a "normal" cycle rack and not one that sits on the tow bar (that you must not fit). Buying a cable for public charging

Hi all, Had my ZS for about 2 weeks now and am thoroughly enjoying it. I'm now looking for a cable so that I can use a lot of the public charge points that do slow charging, but require you to have your own. I've found a 32 amp cable for about the same price as a 16amp one. So my question is...
