The MG4 EV is a battery electricsmall family car (C-segment) produced by the Chinese automotive manufacturer SAIC Motor under the British MG marque. It was introduced in Europe as the MG4 EV in July 2022.
Firstly, I am not sponsored by Supgard ? but thought i'd share my views on this
I had this applied to my Trophy, inside and out, also came with a fairly extensive care pack Have to say that the cars paint looks great, no swirls or scratches etc. Went out in the car and this time year...
Looks like if you accidentally switch the light from auto , the follow-me home feature doesn't switch off the lights.
I've turned off follow-me home for the sake of some clue move forward.
As I was waiting for the AA man, My neighbour helpfully informed me that the lights were on for the last 2...
MG4 Trophy. Sorry if already posted. After 4 weeks of ownership I have just found that after locking car, I can still open the boot. When I leave the key in the house and go back to the car, the boot is locked. Is this normal or another feature for getting the shopping out of the boot?
Has anyone pressed P park at a long set of traffic lights then been unable to move off after selecting D drive until after performing a system restart (lock and unlock)? I'll use the park hold switch next time! I'm guessing the car powered itself off because the cars operating system thought...
Just a quick note.
I don't travel long distances much. Recently went on a couple of days travelling. Zap-Map, electric universe, shell etc I have it all. However, what came as a surprise was that most McDonalds have InstaVolt fast chargers and they all worked.
Rather than ask for EV charging...
I have a query hard wiring a dashcam in my MG4 'hoping someone can help. I can wire into a permanent 12V Micro2 fuse socket (2 prong) which works fine. I'm not worried about the 12V going flat as the voltage occasionally jumps up to over 14V when the car is switched off so I think the MG is...
I've had my blue Trophy for just over a month, today was my second time washing it but first time polishing and protecting.
My roof panel, mirrors and black spoiler plastics aren't fully black.
In the bright sunshine you can see that they are actually black with a blue sparkle. I was pleasantly...
…just a thought - is there a need to remove the wheel covers every so often to clean the alloys beneath? Wondering if a brake dust build up would eat into the surface of them otherwise. Any thoughts on this?
Sorry all. I know this has been talked about before but i cant find the thread. Regarding seat covers for the MG4, i remember someone recommending some that weren't actually full covers but were more like pads that sat on the seat base and back. I'm sure the reviewer mentioned that he was a...
Hi all, I'm yet to buy a charging cable, and there are good quality ones online for about £130 (5m, 32A, 7.2Kw, single phase for the short range SE). The MG one is about £240.
Is it worth paying a lot extra for the MG cable? I doubt it is better, but could it avoid any warranty issues if there...
My car was charging fine then yesterday I plugged it in overnight and it hardly charged . Today it won’t charge again
I have not changed any settings and looking at the charger it is looking for approval to change as it says approve in the app
When plugged in now it does not go straight to...
IE top spec car . tried the built in sat nav. Bit disappointed it doesn't route chargers in the plan - seems very basic.
I noticed the roundabout directions seem to be the wrong way round - almost like the gps thinks I'm on the continent instead of ireland!
I test drove the MG4 SE demonstrator yesterday which was quick to say the least ! Loved the car but I want either the Extended range or the Sports twin motor version (depending on pricing) which they are not taking orders for yet.
The Dealer said they should know more in May.
Anybody heard...
Jonny Smiths long term review of the Ora Funky Cat shows that it has the exact same issues as MG4 with regard to LKA and Driver monitoring. He actually says its tried to steer him into oncoming traffic.
Hopefully with time both will have a fix for a more diverse range of roads like UK back roads.
…do you power down, or leave on and in Ready mode? What’s best and why? Heating/air con being used along with radio. I’m thinking that leaving it in Ready mode would be best with accessories on, but wondered what the right option is…or if there is even a right option!
I've struggled to find a car windscreen sun shade that fits the MG4 as it's hight to width ratio is different to other cars. No surprise there then ?
I eventually came across these on Amazon. The medium size seem the best option, not perfect but fit better then the rest.

Had my Trophy since October and loving it.
Had the usual issues, oil leak etc, but not enough to put me off.
I normally have the charge limit set in the app to 80% and this works fine. I occasionally take it up to 100% if contemplating a longer journey or to balance to batteries once a month...
Fitted a screen protector to main screen which is anti glare / fingerprint. Fits really well and doesn't affect responsiveness. Let's see what it's like once I've used it for a week.?
