The Roewe Ei5 is the electric station wagon version of the Roewe i5. Debuting during the 2017 Guangzhou Auto Show, the Chinese version is powered by a single electric motor producing 116 hp. It claims a range of 300 kilometers and a 145 km/h top speed.

The Ei5 was launched in the UK rebranded as the MG 5 EV in September 2020, with a more powerful, 154-hp electric motor and a 115 mph (185 km/h) top speed. With a 52.2-kWh battery, the vehicle has a range of 214 miles (344 km) in the WLTP cycle.

The Roewe Ei5 was launched in Thailand rebranded as the MG EP on 26 November 2020 with a more powerful, 163-hp electric motor and 260 nm. of Torque.

    Euro NCAP

    I was concerned to find that the MG5 has not been Euro NCAP tested. It has been C-NCAP tested but I have no faith in the results posted. The MG ZS EV has a five-star rating, but I would like to see the MG5 rating before ordering.

    Best Trip to date...

    Over 3k miles in and today a trip of 33 miles done on 17% battery @ 3.5 M/kWh. The trip is a work one. Driving mode N Air con on Up to 70 mph on dual carriageway and M/way in addition to 50mph limit road works. Happy with that.

    No more petrol stations for us

    Picked up SWMBO's MG5 today, traded her 2006 Prius and my 2016 Prius and paid just under £8k cash. It's a 4.5 month old ex-demo Dynamic Red Exclusive, with protection pack, only 399 miles on it due to COVID restrictions, well pleased. No more watching the price of petrol ever increasing now...

    Very impressed with the MG5

    Got my Exclusive Red yesterday from the Chorley group. Very impressed with the car I must say, feels much faster than what it says. Smooth, fast and comfortable. For the money you just can't beat it. Love it!

    Well worth the money.

    This is good money for an exclusive, plus it has the option alloys I just bought. There is also a silver with the same wheels even cheaper. Just keep an eye out for that battery switch label. It doesn't work anymore so you don't want it labeled...

    Doing a few bits on the MG5 first I fitted the 12v battery monitor that was a doddle just flip the cover off and attach the the positive and the the negative and a sticky pad to hold box on top of the battery. On the other hand the dash cam was a ball ache the fuse box cover is not easy to get...

    I have just collected my new MG5 today nice drive home getting used to and setting the car up to suit me I have a couple of questions first how do I access the fuse box inside the cabin to fit my dashcam and do you get a AA can d for the breakdown cover or is there just a phone number to use
