    Quick settings swipe down menu

Hi everyone, Just noticed this shortcut to some settings accessed by swiping down from the top left or right of the home screen. Maybe I was being a bit slow on the uptake but I've only just noticed this quick way to turn things like the mobile wifi hot-spot on and adjust the screen...

    First long run miles/KW

So picked the Trophy up yesterday and had a run today from Manchester to south Shropshire on a mix of motorway and A roads and got 4.4 mikes/Kw which thanks to the warm weather I don’t think is too bad - had to run the A/C as it’s so hot? Pleased to see I got 7 KW regen too Sorry for the...

The car as a person - or possibly a pet

When I was a kid, my dad had a black Ford Anglia, FVA155, called Stanley. I don't remember him referring to the car as Stanley much, but that's what he told pre-school me when I asked what the car's name was. When the exceedingly elderly Stanley went (astonishingly, not to the great car breaker...

    MG4 or ZS EV (Australia)

Calling on the collective wisdom/opinions of this forum. Here in Australia, the ZS EV has a discount ($3000) that makes it quite a bit cheaper than the MG4 (which is yet to arrive). Taking into account on-road costs (WA estimated, in the case of the MG4), and including the EV rebate, the final...

    Fasten seat belt warning

I've been using the manual e-brake for a while now and have twice gotten an issue I've not seen here. Stoping at lights using the brake, then I go to move off and a warning comes up saying to fasten seat belt and it won't accelerate. Every time I push thepedal the warning will appear. The only...

    MG4 Phone Bumper - 3D printed

One of my hobbies is 3D printing. I've designed a new phone bumper for my MG4 EV to stop my phone from sliding off the factory phone mat, which can happen if being a bit too enthusiastic when cornering. My design is based on Tim Holzhausen's design for an MG4 phone railing which is in another...

    Tyre reviews

I thought that I would share a link to this useful resource. Nothing there for the MG4 yet, but I used it every time I needed to buy new tyres for my last car. The reviews are crowd sourced. Hopefully with enough reviews tyre scores should become reasonably objective and reliable...

Limited functionality in iSmart on Trophy

I have had my trophy now for just over a week. Still a lot to learn. When investigating the iSmart app, I seem to be missing some functionality. I have paired the car with the app, I can lock/unlock it, but that seems to be the extent of the remote control functionality. I have looked at a...

Checking the State of charging on the MG4

Hi again not seen this little trick mentioned Before so just so you know, ours is the 4 SESR but I would think it’s the same for all models of the MG4. So everything is powered down and car is charging, you are sat in the car and wondering what the level of charge is ok, so you just push the...

My misadventure with MG4 and its customer service

This post is a bit of information and a bit of a personal outlet, since, after reading it, you can imagine how I feel, having bought a new car and almost having to stand still. On October 24, 2022, I ordered an MG4 Luxury, which I picked up on February 9, 2023. On May 18, I took the car to the...

Different puddle underneath on newish ‘23 Trophy?

I noticed today that I had a fair old puddle and trail leading from it on the driveway. Immediately thought of the good ol’ reduction gearbox and breather not being magically fixed in the newer models but…I think it’s actually coming front the front? I’ve put down some cardboard to see what I’m...

Flat 12v battery after 6 weeks

I went away for 6 weeks and on my return the car was dead. Doors would not open or anything I called MG support who sent the AA and they found the hidden manual key slot and opened the door and bonnet. I have to charge the 12v battery to recover the car even though the main battery was 57%

    LED ambient lighting

Hi all, I thought I would post some details of my ambient lighting upgrade. I found the MG4 interior a bit dull without any ambient lighting, especially at night. This is the link to the kit I bought on Amazon: Led ambient lights It was pretty straight forward to fit the kit as I decided...

Are the auto lights linked to the clock?…

Genuine question, could the auto lights be linked in any way to the clock? I ask as I noticed the last few evenings that they came on around or before 8pm, regardless as to how bright it still was at that time. There were zero shadows from trees where I was driving, and it was still very bright...

New MG4 Trophy, feedback after 2 weeks

Hi everyone. Received my Trophy (Europe). It's running version R30 for the software. Overall, mechanically no issues yet. No oil leak and no undertray bulge. Consumption is great for our day-to-day driving. Even with some highways mixed in, I will get average of 15 to 16 kW/100km. But...

    12 volt battery charging

Having returned after 16 days on holiday I found the 12v battery to be too flat to be bothered to unlock my MG4 Trophy LR. (The HV battery was left at 60% plus before trip.) I couldn't trickle charge the 12v battery, seemingly because the current draw was too high. I disconnected the positive...
