Front nearside plastic grill cover popped out

Hello, I would get grateful for advice from anyone who has encountered this problem or has another solution. We scraped a rock a few days ago and the front nearside grill cover has popped out of its place. I tried pushing it back in but couldn't. I have asked the MG dealer if they can fix it...

    First trip Croydon to Hull

I am not sure of the reason for the constant bad press electric cars get - my experience is good: Very pleased with my first long trip to Hull from Croydon, and back, in MG mk1 LR. 500 miles covered in total. Two rapid charges at Newark (Osprey) and Cambridge services (Ionity) - both very rapid...

    Final tax reminder???????

I have today received a final reminder to tax my MG5, which was due on August 1st (albeit at zero cost). However, I did not receive an earlier reminder letter to say it was due, which I have always had in the past. My wife has also received a final demand for taxing her ICE car, having not had...

    Route planning ?

I apologise if this is obvious but wondered how others plan long journeys, we’re off to do our first ultra long journey , London to Penzance, stoping to see friends & family on the way. We did Nottingham but it got there without stopping . To get to our first stop in Holsworthy (North Devon) we...

    Boot Locking

I expect many owners will already know this but probably worth posting anyway for those who don't. If you open just the boot when the car is locked and shut it again it is locked automatically. However if you put the key into the boot (as I did in error) and shut the lid then after about a...

The arguments for EVs over Hydrogen fuelled cars

I came across this discussion about the use of hydrogen as part of the solution to achieving net zero. The discussion is based on hard facts delivered by a very eminent Professor (David Cebon of Cambridge University) and should be required viewing for all MPs and the media who frequently spout...

    Solar Powered MG

I'm just coming up to my second year of ownership of an MG5 and had a wall charger for as long, but have only just started being able to use the charger in solar mode. In the past it would always draw from the grid rather from the solar panels, whenever I elected solar or solar + mode. After...

MG5 LR Battery Cell Configuration 61.1Kwh

Does anyone know what the series configuration of the mg5 is and how battery modules are in each pack? Also does the MG5 LR use LFP cells or NMC cells? I checked on my dad's 2022 LR and it shows 404v at 100% SOC which makes me think it uses typical 4.2v pouch cells with 96 series connections...

Hi, i have recently bought a 2021, 71 reg, MG5 Excite, with front grill pop out charge port. Can i get the app? I couldn't find a QR code anywhere on the car. Does the car support api? MFG rapid chargers and MG5 pre facelift

I am planning a trip to the Catford , Bromley area and wonder if any MG5 users have used the chargers at 360 Verdant Lane Catford. If so have they had any problems? Am I right in thinking I would not need to download any app as some are contactless?

    Charging cable

I am looking to purchase a charging cable for my new EV 5. I have followed the link by the kind user in my first thread. However there are options that confuse me. Namely 32 amp single phase or 32 amp 3 phase. What should I buy. Ie. Does the 3 phase one also work on all outlets including...

    Does the Rear Seat Flatbed?

A bonus when I switched from ZS EV(1st gen) to MG5 (FL) was I thought estate flexibilty. Today, preparing a run to the rubbish tip, I put the rear seats down. A little odd as they don't (ZS was the same) flatbed. Does yours? I assumed weight of rubbish will push down, but did'nt want to...
